Burning feet

Burning feet can have several causes. Some of the most common include:

1.Peripheral Neuropathy

Often caused by diabetes, alcohol abuse, or vitamin B12 deficiency.

Tingling, numbness, and burning pain in feet are typical symptoms.

2. Vitamin Deficiencies

Especially Vitamin B12, B6, and folate.

Can lead to nerve damage over time.

3. Diabetes

Diabetic neuropathy is a common complication.

Burning and tingling in the feet is an early sign.

4. Alcohol Abuse

Long-term use can damage nerves, causing burning sensations.

5. Infections or Inflammatory Conditions

Conditions like athlete’s foot or erythromelalgia.

May be accompanied by redness, heat, or swelling.

6. Chronic Kidney Disease

Can lead to uremic neuropathy, causing burning feet.

7. Thyroid Problems (Hypothyroidism)

Can lead to fluid retention and nerve compression.

8. Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

Like carpal tunnel, but in the ankle—compressed nerve causes burning pain.

9. Contact Dermatitis or Allergies

From shoes, socks, or foot creams—can cause burning and irritation.
